Visitors to the U.S. should check their own travel and auto coverage against the rental agreement. A familiar product name can have different U.S. terms.
Before you rely on a policy
Amounts and eligibility can change by branch, vehicle, card, and booking. A pending hold is different from a settled charge.
What to check first
- Check license and translation requirements at the branch.
- Confirm third-party liability and rental-car damage separately.
- Check card benefit country and trip exclusions.

Common questions
Are CDW and liability insurance the same thing?
No. CDW/LDW generally concerns damage to the rented vehicle; liability products concern third-party bodily injury or property damage.
Does a credit card automatically cover my rental car?
No universal guarantee. Read the card benefit guide for eligibility, required payment, geographic limits, car class, duration and exclusions.
Is Turo guest protection the same as insurance?
No. Turo describes physical-damage protection as a contractual arrangement; liability insurance is addressed separately.
